Critic Paper 1 Ecology

To start my critic about the article let me start with the first impression regarding with my first reading, it was quite ambiguous where I had encounter with some of those unfamiliar terms but it was quite interesting yet confusing somehow because of those mambo jumbo of words and I don’t know if it was necessary to explain in those term. Some words were redundant but somehow I was thinking if those words were used to elaborate more specifically the term. But to be more precise with the article it was well discuss, the topic was sliced in informative way, and the style of referencing was really indicated. It’s a very interesting article especially if you are taking a research study because you could make used some of those given methods of analysis that has been serving. Beside those given spatial analysis method I think the author was profound in delivering the idea of the topic it was dissected by level so the readers that can follow the flow of the information, yet some of those words or term are quite confusing but at the same time it was meant for misinterpretation of the terminology because the subject of the article is based on ecology so proper definition and term should be used, I guess the reader should have also a background of the article before engaging the topic because it might confuse the latter that would lead to falsification of the information. Apparently, I was discussing more about the article platform on how the author used his terminology and insight, I’m not arguing with those term that the author used I’m just confuse with some little terms but I guess there was nothing wrong after all it is my consciousness of term that lead me to critic some of the author words. But enough of these shallow interpretations of mine of discussing the first part of my opinion but from here right now I will be discussing more on the content of the article.

Basically, the author was pointing directly to the problem of the concept and dissecting the problem one by one, by giving solution to each problem that are currently raising to the spatial data in ecology the fact that the problem are currently major, and integrating those statistical analysis would surely use lot of deep comprehension. The author also showcase comparison of method and analysis on how to resolve the problem and also giving the weakness and strength side of each method and analysis that would be significant in delivering the information to the reader that is why, I would say that the article comprise many integrated method and analysis that surely would be helpful in the long run if you are committing some research or study specially in ecology. The article was more used on the term of spatial analysis and methodologies that would be used, it is more on comparing the method from other method though they would lead to similar result as the article describes it, it’s really engaging on how the author deliver the concept of information by being on the neutral corner of the point of view of each methods and analysis, before I would spoil it out the whole coverage of the article it would be better if I would be on the neutral corner also by giving my reaction to my point of view. The adaptation on how to resolve the problem was properly concise that it tackles the major issues like the traditional way of method we learn, we are concentric to our own ideas and even enveloped to those approaches and we don’t tend to learn something new in this current age, maybe because the lack issue; like lack of disseminating of information, this hindrances should be consider because it would be one that would affect to accomplish the success of every research.

However, the author gave diction in order to resolve those kinds of problem like they organized a workshop on statistical methods of spatial analysis in ecology at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS). It shows that the collaboration of other agencies or group are gathered in ordered to resolve the problem, this follow that the article has a wide range of organization and deal it seriously to resolve and aid the problem. This might a little thing in the article page but it shows the collaboration of other groups and sector from other side of the country this issue open the idea and interest of the reader because it is not independent to one opinion but with the help of other collaborative group the article has a hand to work in resolving the issue. The article also has the quality of giving the importance on how to resolve the problem like on how the ecologist react to their problem though the problem has identified for many years the ecologist react with this issue with perseverance on handling, that must not take for granted that appropriate methods should be account for spatial pattern. The article also follows the way of looking back to the past or those traditional ways of statistical analysis of spatial data adopted by ecologist. In the article example it provides information and comparison to both approaches the Geography and Geo statistics like for example in the article sample “The Geo statistics emphasizes spatial estimation, rather than hypothesis testing”, this give a distinct comparison to both traditional approaches but on the same thing the article also lend a conclusion that those procedures are increasingly being used in both basic and applied ecology.

The good thing also about the article was that it gave information about the advancement over those late approaches method to isolate every corner of each sector like Dispersion Indices, were developed specifically for ecological applications. It shows also different variety of methods were developed to infer spatial pattern from the frequency distribution of sample counts and other developed method in ecological application and landscape ecology for analysis for polygonal data, to add on other approaches are also stated like spectral analysis, wavelet analysis and fractal analysis are integrated in the article to analyze the spatial data in ecology. It presented that the article issue was sliced well to filter the information to the mind of the reader though slight ambiguity was glance if you don’t have any background of what the article is topic all about. The emphasis of every method was properly arranged until to the last page of its topic, it signifies only that the article has a consistency of each topic to deliver it to the reader. The last few page was all about to the five conducted research paper it implies also the same thing as the article all about the comparison of every research to the other it was intriguing how issue of every research was describe and delivered, also how comparative it handle from one another. This showcase that there are a lot of methodologies or approaches you would use in analyzing spatial patterns, this such information are really useful and resourceful to identify which statistical method is appropriate for the data and type of descriptive information you would need. It also eliminate some rubbles of confusion about some terminology use in ecology like the term use of “scale” it clarify the use of this term to eliminate misinterpretation.

Even though the article has its wide coverage of platform it clarifies the scope and its limitation of its page. It implies the intention of the author to its reader on what the objective it showcases, this gave a clarification to the reader to avoid ambiguity and draw a conclusion to the mind. Even though it shows the weakness of its scope but this would be significant way to address that the possibilities of this issues would be useful later on for possibilities of review related literature of the article and would gave the idea to the reader that there are a lot of factor should be consider other than those traditional way of statistics because there are a lot of new integrated technology are invented. The article wouldn’t be able to complete without its reference I think it’s the success behind the article page. It only picture out that the reliability of the article is came from those APA style format of reference. Furthermore, this article signifies different ideas that being combined and compare that reflects the scheme of the commentary.

Paradigm Shift…

In the spectrum of organizational change, which is the most radical type of change: automation, rationalization of procedures, business reengineering, or paradigm shifts?

In my opinion every change has its consequence, and facing those consequences has a significant effect in the organization and could have a dramatic effect whether to success or failure. However, I think that no one is planning to fail, so these changes would be a great challenge in every organization which would serve as a key to success.

I think the most drastic type of change would be the paradigm shift which from basic view of the organization to different angle, this type would be similar to evolutionary. Though there are greater risk lies upon this shift because it takes time to plan and accurate data is very critical to success of the organization.

Sample of this the youth today which has drastic and dramtical change over the past years, youth is more open minded over those past years and yet there are several of change. Like the type of courtship today, On the past years the guy will come and court the girl in thier house along with theyre guitars and back up singer. Now a day, through texting opposite sex can easily communicate which a new relationship would be started and simple as that the it would be easy to court the girl.

Third Entry

Among the data gathering techniques used in systems analysis are interviewing, document review, observation, and use of questionnaires. Considering your personality type, which of these would you be most comfortable with and why?

Practically all choices is important in data gathering and they vary only on their method in gathering the data. Simply to answer the raise question i would like to choose all choices because i don’t think i fit only with one of those choices because it may not satisfy in considering my personality I’d rather to choose it all by simply ranking them from top to bottom. My first on a list would be interviewing because i think it would suite first on my personality because I’d rather to ask personally than having reading with those papers that is simply me, i just do lots of talking than sitting on a side. I’m a talkative person specially when things are unfamiliar to me and i get curios, sometimes shy personality over come me but thinking I’ve been living in this world for 20years i think its not right to get shy anymore (ayt?) . The second on the list would be Observation wherein through observing things,it would look place on my personality of observing things before reacting on it. Both Document Review and Questionnaires fit same rank on leveling my personality thus this both paper works is my weakness but its part of my personality. This weakness might be my strength someday by practicing this case study, paper works and assignments it would be source of my strong point.

Following the SDLC model, please discuss the acitvities/steps that you will undertake in order to achieve your objective/s in life. what approach(es) would you use, predictive/adaptive?..

If I would make a Development Life Cycle in my life I would make sure that those things that I’ll be processing would be benficial to my learning in this world that will lead me to rewards and fame. Though this is only part of my goal in this world but it would be a path to trail the success in my life, along the way objectives will be build like a ladder to climb a wall to reach those stars that my dreams a wait. But first of thing I would like to share my approaches in my life which would be a tool to weigh the trials in my life. I am a type of person which is a hybrid one with both predictive and adaptive side that showcase my development life cycle. In living in this world both shall work connivance for without one; one can’t work accurately, because I believe in a saying that two heads are better than one.

Predictive side will impart the cycle in my development which things shall be needed to analyze and plan in my life. On the other hand, Adaptive would be working on those things that concern more on learning and adjusting process.

Listed are the SDLC model in my Life:

1.) Planning

This would be the introductory point of my dream anticipating those risk and feasibility that might be hinder in my life.

2.) Analysis

This stage would serve as the analyzation of my life that all of my work and plan should be tested if those objective that has been listed is really appropriate to me, and to know that if im still on my path to my goal.

3.) Implementation

Basically the real test that would be much more under taken here and the taste of reward shall be offer.

4.)Maintaining

One should remain humble, and don’t forget the past he had strive with for learning is on the process and life should be enjoy.

First Entry…

Think about your approved/proposed systems, is it worth the three or more years of learnings you get from the university? Describe how you arrived with this proposal.

Basically we had already our proposed system with supply office which was introduce to us by our former professor. Issues of University system was the main point of the project she had offer to us. This had been the issue that was raised before, but now we have our new integrated proposed system which is more practically useful specially to students. The idea of our new proposed system was formulated also with the help by our professor mr.RSG. To go back in the topic question, for me being an IT for over 4years it had been challenging years to look back in the past, but to ask about the learning and skills that I had acquired studying in the university? I guess I would say that those years would be much more learning if it had been diversely spread the learning through the use of Internet and open up with new application and embrace some new paradigm because I think university is more on theoretical side which is basically the basic, but I’m not debating about the way of teaching because the fact that it would be much more better to look things first in the basic form because all things came from basic. It had been a long story since the question is all about if its my study is worthy for my learning over 4years… My answer would be NO… because as part of my experience also I had been enlighten to the real IT world with the help of our beloved professor that “If you have the information You have the Power!” which was true that is already proven by Internet surfing..

We come up with our new proposal as I said earlier with the help of our professor, but also with the environment change and the paradigm shift. That is why we introduce the ONLINE AUCTION SALE in USeP that is useful for finding a cheaper price item and offer some tutorials which would be beneficial to students. The proposed project I can say is worthy for 4years learning in the university which is the environment were working is new and also the interface we are interacting is different no the same database working we usually done. Because as we all know Internet had been so popular in this era and speaking with this will be our on-line project will be tatoo.
